Using an EEG device, it visualizes users' mental states, providing real-time feedback and advice to enhance focus.

The system also supports customization and fosters a community for both fun interactions and meditation enhancement.

Beginners typically start with focus attention meditation for easier entry into meditation. It involves maintaining an anchor point, but many find consistent focus challenging, affecting training effectiveness.

What these users are looking for is a training method that helps visualize concentration, anchor point, and comprehends their attention state.

How might we design a product to help beginners in meditation easily find and maintain focus on their anchor point? With simple actions, real-time feedback, and interactions, assist beginning meditators in visualizing their anchor point and taking control over their concentration.

Secondary Research

I conducted secondary research to understand the meditation mechanics, the function of meditation, the types of meditation, how people usually meditate, and what’s suitable for beginners.

Insight

Interviews

I then conducted 5 interviews with beginning meditators to discover the challenges for beginning mediators that restrain and distract them from effective mediation.

Meditation, targeting physical and mental health benefits, faces challenges for beginners, particularly in mind control and visualization exercises, affecting efficiency and stability if users struggle to reach the desired state.

How does the system work?

Function 1: For Meditation Training

The product offers meditation training, enabling users to visualize and assess their mental state. 

Function 2: Multi-interaction

Users can personalize the installation with official products and design patterns, sharing with the community or joining competitions for limited editions. 

Gamification

Adding elements from games to non-game products or services to make the meditation experiences fun, encourage users to return, and help them form a habit.
